Growing Grounds/Emergency Assistance Application

Please download the application to fill out and return/mail it back to the church. At this time, we do not take electronic submissions for the applications. All applications are processed in a first-come, first-served manner.  Completion and return of application does not guarantee assistance will be provided. Please note that it is a needs-based program.


Wabash Area Landlords

Please note, we in no way guarantee that there are available spots at any property/location. You are responsible to contact landlords on your own to either secure housing, or a spot on their waiting list. You are also responsible for any security deposit they may require, and payment of the rent.


Rent and Homeowner Assistance

This is a state-run resource page that has assistance programs for both renters and homeowners who have been impacted by COVID.


Advantage Housing
This is a housing assistance program run out of Howard County for residents in: Howard, Miami, Wabash, Cass, and Tipton Counties. They also run a warehouse in Kokomo where you can purchase construction materials to furniture at a reduced cost.


Wabash Area Food Pantries

There are many food pantries in Wabash County to assist with providing supplemental food to households in need. We do not guarantee that any of these pantries are currently in operation, please contact them to find that out, and to find out what restrictions, if any, they may have.  Some will only give out to people who live in a certain area, or so many times per year.


Other Agencies that Help

There are many places in the county that are set up to help those in need.  This is a listing of those we know. We cannot guarantee that they will be able to help you, you will need to call or go visit them on your own to find out. Many have requirements that must be met before they can help you, or how often they can help you. Most of them are not set up to respond to crisis/emergency situations.


Energy Assistance Program

This is a state-wide program that if you meet income requirements, you may be able to use.  We do not guarantee that you will. You need to contact them, and there is an application process for this. The program runs from November - March is a first-come, first-served program.


The Access Youth Center

If you call, as an adult, you can schedule a time to go and take a shower, and/or do laundry.


YMCA

The Wabash County YMCA will allow you to use their shower facilities so that you can clean up. You must stop in at the front desk, and show some form of ID.


Wabash Parkview Hospital

If it is cold outside, the Wabash Parkview Hospital will allow you to come into the Emergency Department waiting room so that you can stay warm.

     -Assistance with dental, optometry, mental health care, and other specialty care needs
